Khaje Nasir Project
AUG 2019
KNU Educational Complex is a proposal for a free educational-residential support complex for talented individuals with lower financial abilities. This project was accomplished by the combined efforts of Myself and Ali Tayefeh. Our main goal was to design optimized spaces for efficient operational utilization. Optimizable measures included urban regulations, circulation, access, thermal comfort, structure, and noise pollution. Volumetric configuration was created using Rhino-Grasshopper multi-objective weighed genetic algorithm optimization with Galapagos generative design. Next, the preferred volumetric alternative was selected and developed into the final architectural design based on relative scores.
Main challenges: : Defining and mapping quantified variables for multipurpose optimization, limited processing capacity

Navab Residential Complex
JUL 2016
Navab Residential Complex, located at southern Navab High-way, Tehran, was my proposal for the 5th architectural design and development course at IACTB with Dr. Behruz Mansouri. The main issue with the residential towers near Navab highway was disregarding the urban regulations and unfavorable living conditions for residents. I decided to take advantage of the generative design capabilities of Rhino-Grasshopper using Ladybug orientation optimization to maximize the annual day-light received. I have also minimized the damage to urban skyline continuity by generating occupancy and density alternatives with Galapagos GA optimization. The final geometries were developed into an IFC BIM of residential units with detailed plans using Rhino 5 VisualARQ.
Main challenges: Limited time, low experience with defining and mapping quantified variables for GA optimization, limited processing capacity, irregular site perimeter, and license issues using Karamba for minimizing structural columns

Chitgar Martial Arts Complex
JAN 2016
Chitgar Martial Arts Complex was my submission for the 4th architectural design and development course at IACTB with Dr. Zhila Nowruzi. To design an iconic sports complex for eastern martial arts, I decided to employ the concept a Klein surface, the 3d crystallization of yin and yang symbol. I used Rhino-Grasshopper with Ladybug for orientation optimization and parametric exterior shading plates with Karamba for simulating a 3d spaceframe shell structure in this project.

Persian House of 2050
MAR 2021|JUN 2014 WIP
The Persian house of 2050 was my proposal for the first architectural design course at IAUCTB. Supervised by Dr. Vahid Shaliamini, this project was a combination of futuristic technologies and ideas for residential buildings, such as solar power generating electrochromic glazing with hydrophobic surfaces and new materials for flexible parametric surfaces. Unfortunately, I lost my designs for this project during an accident. However, I have been working on an improved version of this project since then. These pictures demonstrate the generation of an exterior shell for this project using nine prefabricated flat panel variations.

Residential Stadium
NOV 2018
Resistadium is a concept for Archstorming adaptive reuse international architectural competition. It was designed collaboratively with a team of four, including myself, Ali Tayefeh, Mahdi Eghbalian, and Maziar Goltinati.
This stadium was designed to be dynamic and interactive. It is defined by an arrangement of modifiable containers wrapped in urban walk/vehicle ways overlooking the field, symbolizing the connection of American urban life with football. The stadium’s capacity can be extended during the matches, and it can change its function into a residential complex with less dense arrangements after the football world cup event. This project was selected as a finalist for Archstorming 2018 competition.
Main challenges: Besides reaching an agreement on the radical design approach, there were technical challenges with solving the slope of the pathway ramps and designing the multipurpose container interiors

African School
MAR 2019
The Malawian educational village is a proposal for Archstorming African school project international architectural competition. It was designed collaboratively with a team of four, including myself, Ali Tayefeh, Mahdi Eghbalian, and Maziar Goltinati. This school design aims to fill the huge gap between knowing about skills and implementing them by combining life experiences with a local educational complex in which not only do students learn but also they practice life skills required to compose a brighter future for Malawi. We envisioned a new and different school in which African students (will) be able to do their required activities like farming, carpentry, survival in nature, etc., along with the regular curriculum. So we decided to create a miniature version of a Malawian village with mini-farms, workshops, and a public gathering place for local ceremonies. Although this proposal didn’t receive any rewards, I thought It was remarkable enough to be mentioned in my portfolio.
The pathway connecting the elementary and high school classrooms.
Main challenges: Extreme interest leading to deliberate out-of-scope activities, technical challenges with 3d modeling and texturing of bamboo structural joints, and fescue role-up curtains.

This design was created for a local architectural competition with strict requirements. It was a collaborative and creative work by a team including myself, Ali Tayefeh, Mahdi Eghbalian, and Maziar Goltinati. Though merely a design effort without any rewards, it demonstrates some remarkable features worth mentioning.
Main challenges: Minimal time, vague requirements, and unexplained design limitations by the organization holding the challenge.

Hypercube Paradise Exhibition
APR 2013 – JUN 2013
A Conceptual Persian garden, designed by myself and nine other third-semester architecture students as a group assignment. This project was based on conceptualizing visual proportions derived from Beethoven’s 5th Symphony into three-dimensional forms with architectural characteristics of a Persian garden; The hypercube paradise was a combination of ten separated modules, each designed individually with its designer’s preferences while trying to affect other segments smoothly with continuous parametric elements at junctions and connections, ultimately creating a single installation as if one artist designed it.
Our design team demonstrated this installation in Milad Towers 271 Gallery, Tehran, for a week-long exhibition.Supervised by Dr. Babak Eslami and Designed by: Alireza Merati – Dorsa Shapuri – Hoda Badavam – Kamyar Fatemifar – Khatereh Hemmati – Mahdi Pour Bazargan – Reyhane Khojaste Safa – Romina Daryabari – Sara Mousavi – Sepidar Kazzazi
