Office VR Walkthrough

This administration office building interior VR was my first experience with large-scale virtual reality simulations. The client requested interactive lighting, dynamic openings, and real-time switchable materials. This project was a detailed BIM made with Revit; the 3d model was modified and optimized for Unreal Engine using 3ds Max, Z-brush, and Rizom Uv Studio. It was finally compiled into an exe file compatible with HTC Vive VR headsets.

Main challenges: The key technical challenge of this project was software interoperability and limited texturing capabilities of Autodesk Revit. There were also process challenges such as employers unfamiliarity, clashes & conflicts

Fairmont Hotel
OCT 2017
Interactive VR simulation of Iran Mall Fairmont sample hotel room was a limited virtual reality simulation for Meyar Co. provided with a very detailed BIM and clear instructions of project requirements. The main goal of this project was to visualize the proposed design’s interior design and lighting features for the client’s approval. This project also includes dynamic openings and light controls, and It is compatible with the oculus rift VR headsets.

Main challenges: Limited hardware processing power, difficulties with unreal features, limitations of earlier versions, and interoperability and budget issues.

A Delicate Villa
APR 2022
Delicate Villa is an architectural visualization based on an actual reference in Unreal Engine. This realistic and interactive environment was a group effort by a team of three individuals, including myself, Ali Tayefeh, and Amir Mahdi Jafari. I was in charge of project management, documentation, 3d modeling of organic objects such as plants and flowers, and 3d optimization. This project is currently published and available for purchase on Unreal engine marketplace.

Main challenges: 226 meshes, 306 texters, along with 233 customizable shaders and other assets, had to be created by our team in this project. This interior space was created using blender, UE & a handful of photos available online.

Unreal Marketplace

Horizon Asset Store creating digital assets for unreal marketplace was a prime activity for me, my collogue Ali Tayefeh and my 3d digital asset production students Negin Nadji, Behruz Anoushahr, Pegah Sefatbagha and… since November 2021. Publishing assets on UE marketplace is a difficult task considering the review criteria and quality standards. I’m currently managing this virtual team while contributing to the development of these assets using my software skills.

Main challenges: High quality standards of UE marketplace, virtual team management, scope creep prevention, lots of responsibilites as a director, developer and scrum master at the same time
Horizon Studio

Horizon visualization studio was founded in July 2017 by me and my friend Ali Tayefeh after graduation from Architecture at IAUCTB to provide 3d modeling, architecture, and design optimization solutions for clients. We have been developing our team capacities and capabilities since then. Attracted by our personal interests and market demands, we have been creating digital assets and architectural visualizations mainly for the Unreal Engine marketplace since 2019.

Main challenges: Establishing a design studio without significant financial support, developing and coaching our own team of specialists, virtual collaboration management and marketing difficulties.
